Arriving for Your Appointment

To get the most of your treatments and for the comfort of other clients, please turn off all pagers and cell phones during your visit. Avoid caffeinated or alcoholic beverages the day of your appointment and for at least 24 hours afterwards. If you are coming for acupuncture please refrain from wearing makeup or scented lotions or perfumes for the first few treatments.


Client confidentiality, as required by state law, is maintained at all times. If you wish not to be contacted by phone for appointment reminders, please indicate so on your intake form.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours before the time of the appointment for the treatment or the full fee will be charged. In the case of an emergency, please inform the front desk or your practitioner and this policy may be amended. Please note that for new clients making appointments we will request a valid credit card to hold the appointment slot. If you subsequently cancel the appointment later than 24-hours before the appointment, we may charge the card on file up to the full value of the service.


Blue Heron Wellness accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield/CareFirst coverage for acupuncture services and we will file claims on your behalf. We can also file claims for acupuncture with other carriers such as Cigna, Aetna and United Health Care as out-of-network providers. A growing number of other insurance companies will reimburse for acupuncture treatments. Consult your insurer for the terms of coverage on your policy. Call our office with questions and when you are ready to schedule an appointment.

Class/Workshop/Studio Policies and Suggestions

How to Register

Registration is available online, by phone or in-person. We strongly encourage early online registration. If you have trouble registering online, please call Blue Heron. Space is reserved only for those who have paid in full prior to the first day of class.

Arriving for Class

  • Late arrivals may be refused entry to class. Please arrive on time or early!
  • Please turn off your cell phone or other electronic device.
  • Please let your instructor know of any condition that may prevent your full participation.
  • Please refrain from wearing scents, fragrances, perfumes, etc.
  • Please no shoes in the studios.

Please be on time for yoga classes as late arrivals are disruptive to the class and don’t allow proper warm-up time for your body. We suggest that new students arrive at least 10 minutes early to their first class to allow time to prepare and speak with the instructor about injuries, pregnancy or health concerns.


Blue Heron reserves the right to provide substitute teachers for classes, when necessary.

Ages for Class Registration

Only ages 16 and above may attend adult classes and workshops.


Blue Heron reserves the right to cancel an entire session of classes or a workshop when minimum enrollment is not met. Classes/Workshops may also be cancelled due to emergencies and inclement weather. When notified, students may choose a refund or to transfer to another series or class. Make-ups are not guaranteed for missed classes.

Classes are held on holidays unless otherwise notified.


Full refunds for series are given prior to the first day of class. After classes have begun, pro-rated refunds will be given, minus a $25 administrative fee.

Refunds are not provided for missed classes. Refunds, minus a 20% administrative fee, are given for workshops when BHW receives at least 48 hours notice. No refunds for workshops are given within 48 hours of the event.

Refunds are not available on passcards. Use all classes before they expire. Passcards can not be extended or transferred.


Most series classes welcome drop-in students, space permitting. The drop-in fee is $20 for all adult classes, $16 for children’s and $24 for family (of 2) classes.


Enrollment is transferable between series classes only during the first two weeks of class. An administrative fee of $25 will be charged for all transfers.

Passcards are not transferable.

General Policies

Discounts and Promotions

Discounts and/or promotions may not be combined. SpaFinder gift cards will not be accepted as payment for any discounts, promotions, or packages.

Payment Methods

Blue Heron Wellness accepts checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express for payment. We also accept SpaFinder gift cards, except as noted above in Discounts and Promotions. We do not accept the Discover Card.


There will be a $25 charge for all checks returned due to insufficient funds.
