Blue Heron Wellness 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Starts October 2017
Whether you are seeking a new vocation as a yoga teacher, looking to enrich your personal yoga practice or wanting to cultivate new relationships surrounded by diverse and like-minded people, Blue Heron Wellness is here to mentor you. Our yoga teacher training program promotes and preserves the ancient wisdom and traditions of yoga while honoring and cultivating the individual journey of the modern yoga teacher. In a setting of loving respect, students are encouraged to build a personal practice, learn the skills of conducting a yoga class, and participate fully and authentically in the process of reaching the next level of their yoga journey.

The Blue Heron Wellness Yoga Teacher Training is:
* Yoga Alliance Registered 200 Hour program.
* Reputable and comprehensive.
* Established in the DC Metro area as a Registered Yoga School since 2009.
* Life-friendly schedule of 10 full weekends spread out over 9 months.
* And includes special discounts on our other wellness services, such as therapeutic massage and skincare; and on other yoga classes and workshops.

Claudia Neuman leads the Teacher Training that includes lecture, on-the-mat practice, hands on experience, group discussions and interactive activities. Yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breath) and meditation will be explored. Although several yoga modalities will be explored, Claudia offers specific emphasis in Vinyassa Krarma (logical progression to a targeted goal), flow, yin and her in-depth study of the Para Yoga tradition. This yoga teacher certification program also includes one weekend-long yoga immersion retreat where participants can practice, learn, play, and rest while deepening life-long friendships.

Claudia, born in Los Angeles,began her formal yoga training in 1984. aT Yoga works in Santa Monica, she spent 10 years assisting and teaching along side some of the most noteworthy teachers of our time. She traveled and studied with Pattabhi Jois (creator of the Ashtanga Yoga System), and completed several Yoga Teacher Training programs, such as the first one given at Yoga Works in Santa Monica, as well as other trainings given by Rod Stryker and many others. In 1993, she was initiated into the ISHTA yoga system by Rod Stryker. She also assisted Erich Shiffman for several years, and then studied and taught at Forrest Yoga, under the direction of Anna Forrest. While at USC completing a Masters degree in Social Work, she taught yoga to students and faculty alike. She integrated her skills as a therapist and yoga instructor developing corporate stress reduction programs, working with oncology patients at Children’s Hospital, and teaching yoga to artists and performers. In 2005 she received certification in Anusara Yoga from John Firend. In 2012 she began studying again with Yogarupa Rod Stryker in the Tantra tradition, completing several of the Para Yoga Teacher’s Trainings. Claudia’s classes reflect her rich background of yoga experience as well as the love and dedication to her life-long practice of yoga.
